President Obama signed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, H.R. 847, into law on January 2, 2011. The new law provides that rescue and recovery workers, residents, students, and others suffering from health consequences related to the World Trade Center attacks will have access to the medical monitoring and treatment they need in the years to come.
